Belén Martínez is attorney at the Madrid Bar Association since 2002.
She specialized in civil and commercial litigation and arbitration, and has also been involved in both Spanish and European Banking and Finance Law. Among her clients there are companies from construction, transport, retail, telecommunications and finance sectors.
Belén Martínez counts with a wide experience in national arbitration proceedings before the Arbitration Court of the Madrid Chamber of Commerce and Industry and has also taken part in arbitration proceedings before the ICC and UNCITRAL arbitrations. She is Member of the Club Español de Arbitraje (CEA).
Belén Martínez holds a LL.B from Granada University School of Law and received a LL.M from the Luxembourg University School of Law and Economics.
Prior to joining Diez-Picazo Law Firm in October 2016, she was attorney at Linklaters Madrid (2002-2008), and she served as deputy chief of cabinet at the European Court of Auditors in Luxembourg (2008-2012).
She also worked as an independent consultant from 2014 to 2016.
Belén has been partner at Díez-Picazo from 2019 until December 2021. Since 2022 Belén collaborates with the firm as senior external counsel. She is arbitrator at the Court of Arbitration of the Official Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Madrid.
